Big Bluestem - Andropogon gerardii

- The main grass of the tallgrass prairie. Big Bluestem is a long-lived perennial warm season grass. Grown from seed collected in the Northern Parkland of Manitoba and Saskatchewan at the northern extreme of its range. Grows to a height of 6 to 7 feet, with most of its growth occurring in August.
Blue Grama - Bouteloua gracilis

- Common on the hillsides of remnant prairie in Manitoba. This graceful, warm season grass is hardy and long-lived. Grown from seed collected in Saskatchewan. Grows to a height of 15-18 inches.
Nodding Brome - Bromus anomalus

- Nodding Brome is a tall, erect bunchgrass, 1.5 to 2.5 feet in height with a beautiful drooping panicle. It is well-liked by cattle and elk.
Purple Prairie Clover - Dalea purpurea

- This beautiful forb is common in the remnant prairies of Manitoba. It is a warm season forb, is long-lived and nitrogen-fixing, making it a must in any native pasture mix. Seed source is North Dakota.
White Prairie Clover - Dalea candida
